Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Work cohesively with all team members

  • Know and Adhere to the Russell Aquatics Team Standards, Mission, and Motto

  • maintain an upbeat and friendly attitude at all times

  • provide exceptional customer service to every person who walks in the door

  • leads and prepares aquatic training material including but not limited to iLearn Pro

  • Updates and maintains training material on iLearn Pro

  • Ensures pictures, videos, and Go-Pro material is being distrubuted to families, being used for Social Media marketing and training materials

  • Leads and prepares all training material for staff training every session (Fall, winter, spring & summer)

  • schedules the staff training with the scheduling coodinator

  • oversee and plan weekly trainings with lead instructors and supervisors

  • responsible for continued development of supervisors and lead instructors

  • oversees aquatic instructors - evaluations and coachings both in and out of the water

  • oversees lead instructors and supervisors - evaluations and coachings

  • create and update aquatic lesson plans and core plans for all levels

  • works cohesively with scheduling coordinator to make sure pools are adequately staffed for shifts

  • addresses client concerns and complaints in a timely manner

  • log any complaints or concerns in the management log and communicate feedback with lead instructor and supervisor

  • attends and assists with hiring and interviews of aquatic department

  • create training schedules for new hires and communicate changes

  • works with general manager to ensure certifications are current for all staff

  • works with marketings team & schedules coordinators to promote program and special events

  • ensures pool is safe, clean and functioning properly

  • works with general manager to address any pool related work including maintenance is needed

  • work with general manager on ordering equipment when needed

  • follow up with any incident reports left in your box in a timely manner

  • meet with owner/GM weekly to go over any necessary changes or staff concerns

  • attend weekly meetings


Required Qualifications

  • Maintain National Lifeguard, Instructor certifications, & First aid/CPR
  • At least 3 years experience in Aquatics Education
  • Certified pool operator (CPO) considered an asset
