Reporting to the General Manager, the Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for promoting and ensuring fun, enriching, and safe programs that encourage member participation through a variety of interactive, educational programs.The Aquatics Supervisor is a people-oriented supervisor who effectively coaches, mentors and motivates staff.

What can you expect in this role?

Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on. We can’t wait to hear what else you want to contribute to the role!

  • Coordinates, supervises and oversees the day-to-day operations of Youth and Aquatics programs.Actively supervises and ensures the safety and organization of children, at all times.
  • Plans and develops best in class programs and services offerings for year-round programs.
  • Employs creative marketing campaigns and promotions to generate interest and attendance.
  • Responsible for leading aquatics, youth & leisure activities, as required and as scheduled
  • Creates a monthly activities calendar to promote events and activities.
  • Proactively addresses any member concerns or issues related to programs.
  • Identifies opportunities, conceptualizes and implements special club events (holidays, charity events, etc.).
  • Monitors key performance metrics to ensure program services are achieving or exceeding objectives, and continuously improving.
  • Participates in the recruitment and orientation of new team members
  • Maintains and tracks team member certifications and recertification to provide highest level of service and safety to members.
  • Monitors the safety of all activities and programs and responds immediately to rectify any safety concerns.

What type of experience should you have?

These are only some of the things we’d like you to bring to the table. There will be more, but we can discuss those in person.

  • Post-Secondary education related to sales, administration, health & fitness or recreation industry is an asset.
  • 5 plus years related experience providing community programs (camps, group games, sports and swimming programs, holiday events) for all ages.
  • 2 plus years of supervisory experience.
  • CPR & First Aid are required and must be maintained through employment.
  • Current National Lifeguard certification and Red Cross Swim Instructor certifications are required.
  • Strong organization, time management and problem solving skills are required.
  • Basic understanding of pool operation and water chemistry.
  • Flexibility regarding assigned hours of work, including early mornings, days, evenings and weekends.
