The Lifesaving Society appoints AED Examiners only
upon the recommendation of their Area Chair. AED Examiner
candidates are experienced AED Instructors who undergo
specific training in examination standards and apprenticeship. AED
Examiners certify candidates in the Lifesaving Society's
Automated External Defibrillation course.
Prerequisites: Lifesaving Society
AED Instructor certification, Examination Standards
Clinic; co-teach at least 1 full AED course with an
experienced AED Examiner; Area Chair approval. You must submit the
completed Examiner Training Record to the Society's
office prior to appointment as an AED Examiner. Do you have the

Candidate recognition: Certification card.
Costs: There is no Lifesaving Society fee for
this volunteer leadership position.
Recertification: Examiners remain current
by recertifying within 24 months of the last certification
date. Recertification is through the Society's professional
