As an aquatic supervisor, you will:
- Provide exceptional customer service to every person who walks in the door
- Ensure the operation of a safe aquatic environment, including maintenance of pool chemicals and overall facility
- Oversee and ensure the safety of all aquatic team members and students
- Quickly resolve any pool-related emergencies or issues
- Oversee the smooth operation of the pool during lessons, including but not limited to instruction, students, teaching and parental matters such as feedback
- Oversee instructor completion of student evaluations
- In- water mentorship of instructors and ensuring the teaching standard is being met throughout the session
- Work with administrative staff to ensure that online database reflects accurate information with regard to student level, classes, attendance and more
- Assist in resolving any client issues that may arise
- Complete and deliver instructor evaluations
Successful candidates will be assigned a portfolio which may include:
- Updating staff lesson plans
- Scheduling staff for shifts
- Training of current staff, onboarding new staff and updating training materials
- Planning and running of seasonal aquatic staff trainings
- Ensuring staff qualifications are kept up-to-date and notifying them of upcoming expiry
- Keeping inventory of equipment and ordering any pool related equipment or supplies
- Scheduling leadership courses and securing trainers or instructors
- Oversee Health and Safety program and completing monthly inspections
- Act as primary contact for overall pool maintenance including scheduling maintenance visits and managing day-to-day pool operations
- Ensuring cleanliness of pool deck and pump room
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an aquatic supervising role
- Standard First Aid & CPR C
- National Lifeguard Certification
- Lifesaving Society - Swim Instructor
- Lifesaving Society - Lifesaving Instructor
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
- Bronze Medal Examiner - Appointed by Lifesaving Society an asset
- Advanced Leadership qualifications considered an asset
- Experience in operating pool or CPO certification considered an asset
