Job Description
Purpose: To provide leadership for the Lifesaving Society – Ontario on matters related toLifeguard Competitions.
Term of Office: Elected to the Lifesaving Sport Council at the Lifesaving Society’s AnnualGeneral Meeting for a term of two years.
Reporting Relationship: To the Lifesaving Sport Council.To the Board of Directors as required.To the Lifesaving Society, Ontario Branch membership annually.
Responsibilities:
- Establish objectives and annual action plan on matters related to LifeguardChampionships.
- Manage approved projects related to Lifeguard Championships
- Manage the following
- Review of Ontario Lifeguard championships reports and make recommendation for next season
- Simulated Emergency Response Events Score Sheets
- Eligibility and program of events at Ontario Lifeguard Championships
- Eligibility and program of events for Junior Lifeguard Telegames
- Development of regional lifeguard competitions
- Ongoing liaison with Key Officials and Situation Designers
- Chair the Competitive Lifeguard committee, including:
- Recruit and develop committee members as required
- Assign responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate committee activities
- Recognize volunteer committee members
- Attend Lifesaving Sport Council meetings, and the Annual General Meeting.
- Report to Lifesaving Sport Council as scheduled on the status of established objectives andaction plan.
- Prepare an annual report on the committee’s activities and accomplishments.
- Liaise with provincial and/or national Lifesaving Sport counterparts.
