Job Description
Purpose: To provide leadership for the Lifesaving Society – Ontario on matters related to
Lifesaving Sport – Sport Outreach.
Term of Office: Elected to the Lifesaving Sport Council at the Lifesaving Society’s Annual
General Meeting for a term of two years.
Reporting Relationship: To the Lifesaving Sport Council.
To the Board of Directors as required.
To the Lifesaving Society, Ontario Branch membership annually.
Responsibilities:
- Establish objectives and annual action plan on matters related to Lifesaving Sport –
Outreach
- Manage approved projects related to Lifesaving Sport - Sport Outreach
- Manage the following:
- Lifesaving Sport Fundamentals program
- Development of affiliates support tools and initiatives
- Development of outreach activities and initiatives
- Lead and Develop and Implement the Ontario Lifesaving Sport Delegation Program in
cooperation with the Official's Chair and Coaching Chair. (opportunities, registration,
transportation, accommodation, equipment, expectations)
- Chair the Lifesaving Sport -Sport Outreach committee, including:
- Recruit and develop committee members as required
- Assign responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate committee activities
- Recognize volunteer committee members
- Attend Lifesaving Sport Council meetings, and the Annual General Meeting.
- Report to Lifesaving Sport Council as scheduled on the status of established objectives and
action plan.
- Prepare an annual report on the committee’s activities and accomplishments.
- Liaise with provincial and/or national Lifesaving Sport counterparts.
