Every year 500 adults and children drown in Canada. Child
drownings are the No. 1 cause of unintentional death among children
1-4 years of age and the 2nd leading cause of preventable death for
children under 10 years. It may be an unattended toddler in a
bathtub or pool for only seconds, or a lack of awareness of the
dangers playing by lakes, rivers and streams. The tragic results
are equally devastating for the families involved. Please help us
prevent this unnecessary loss of life.
