Fundraising Events

Many affiliates, businesses and friends of the Society host special events throughout the year to raise funds for the Lifesaving Society's Water Smart® drowning prevention campaign. Fundraising events create awareness and get people involved in their communities.

Visit our website often to find out about fundraising events in your community. Check our drowning prevention events around the province listings for this year - there's always something going on!

Host an event of your own

Got an idea? Want to fundraise for us in your own unique way? We can't wait to hear what you're planning.

As an affiliate, whatever fundraising event(s) you decide to host, register your event(s) in advance with the Lifesaving Society so we can provide you with our Event Planning Tool Kit. We'll post your event on our website and provide you with a press release.

To register, please print and complete the Event Registration Form and fax it to 416-490-8766.

Examples of events our volunteers have organized in the past include: slide-a-thons, tread-a-thons, water games, car washes, sponsor a lifeguard, private swim lessons, pie-in-the-face contests, garage sales, afternoon garden tea parties, bake sales, volleyball matches, lifeguard team competitions, swim marathons and underwater photo events. Download our Tips for a great event!

If you are not an affiliated, and interested in organizing a fundraising event for the Lifesaving Society, please print and complete "Third Party Agreement" and fax it to 416-490-8766 to the attention of

Event Planning Tool Kit

Whatever fundraising event(s) you decide upon, the event planning tool kit helps with planning. The Event-in-a-Box is a container full of materials intended to make organizing a community fundraising event fun and easy.

The box contains items such as:

  1. "How-to" guide with step-by-step instructions
  2. Banners and balloons - and even a balloon blower
  3. Disposable camera to capture the magic moments of the event
  4. "Thank you" goodies for participants
  5. Media releases to promote the event; and much more!

The tool kit (the "event-in-a-box" for 40 or more participants, and "event-in-an-envelope" for less than 40 participants) holds everything you need to run a successful event.

If you are an affiliate, call us today at 416-490-8844 to book your tool kit. If you're not an affiliate but interested in organizing a fundraising event for the Lifesaving Society, please print and complete "Third Party Agreement" and fax it to 416-490-8766 to the attention of
