The Head Guard/ Instructor at the Granite Club is responsible for the deck supervision and guidance of Lifeguards and Swim Instructors and effective supervision of members in and around the pool area, including prevention of accidents, and performance of first aid and water rescue when required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, guidance and coaching to instructors and lifeguards in the absence of Supervisors
  • Set up proper guard rotations and determine timing for staff lunch and dinner break
  • Safe and effective supervision of the pool and area during fitness and recreational
    swims (according to rules specified in employee handbook).
  • Provide safe and effective quality instruction of swim lessons as assigned
  • Performance of water rescue and first aid when necessary

Required Qualifications

  • Current National Lifeguard certification
  • Current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor or Red Cross Water Safety Instructors Certification
  • Current Standard CPR “C” and First Aid Certificates are required
  • High Five (Principles of Healthy Child Development)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • 2 Years of active aquatic experience
  • High school graduate

Work Schedule:

  • Must be available to work weekends, weekdays and/or holidays, AM and PM.
