Job Description

LOCATION: YMCA of Kitchener-Waterloo

START DATE: August 19th, 2019

HOURS: Full Time Mon-Fri 5:15am-1:15pm. Evenings and weekends as required.

What you will do…
Foster a place of safety by ensuring all life guarding procedures are adhered to. Create lasting memories and lifelong friendships with your peers working together in the aquatic environment. Plan, organize and implement core lesson plans, progress reports and evaluations. Stretch your team building and problem solving abilities while you work together navigating a constantly changing environment. Enforce all rules and regulations and maintain order in designated area as a proactive approach to ensuring safety and accident prevention.

Required Qualifications

What you will bring…
You are committed to creating an inclusive and safe space for all. You will bring a passion for working with youth. You will be committed to working in a socially inclusive environment, responding with sensitivity to diverse needs. You will have well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with staff, YMCA community members and pool patrons. You will posses current National Lifeguard certification, Standard First Aid CPR-C Certifications and Swim Instructor certification. Aquatic fitness certification and/or advanced instructor certifications is an asset.
