Lifesaving Sport Coach - Pool

Job Description

Under the leadership of the Head Coach, the lifesaving coach will follow club standards and guidelines in delivering safe and inclusive training sessions to RVLC members, which may include juniors, seniors, and/or masters athletes. The lifesaving coach reports directly to the Board of Directors. The lifesaving coach will be responsible for the safety supervision and well-being of all RVLC members; and provide technical feedback, mentorship, and guidance during all training sessions and competition events.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 16 years of age
  • Current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Pool (within 2 years)
  • Current ministry approved Standard First Aid certification (within 2 years)
  • Current Lifesaving Society Coach Level 1 Award (within 2 years)
  • Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check and in good standing (within 1 year)
  • Training experience or NCCP Coach certification in competitive swimming is an asset.
  • Competition experience in a pool lifesaving competition (i.e. regional, provincial, national) in one or more capacity (i.e. coach, athlete, official) is an asset.
