Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee the operations of our aquatics facility, Brave Waves Swim School, specializing in swim lessons and aquatic activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for promoting water safety and fitness.
Responsibilities:
Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, staffing, facility maintenance, and inventory management.
Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of instructors, lifeguards, and administrative staff. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Program Execution: Ensure consistent swim lesson curriculum distribution that caters to various age groups and skill levels. Collaborate with instructors to create engaging and effective lesson performance.
Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and maintaining a welcoming and safe environment for all patrons.
Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
Financial Management: Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-effective strategies to maximize profitability while delivering high-quality services.
Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with team-members on marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones. Utilize various channels, including social media, local partnerships, and community events, to promote the facility and its programs.
Community Engagement: Build relationships with schools, community organizations, and local authorities to promote water safety education and increase participation in aquatic programs.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the facility meets its objectives in terms of revenue, customer satisfaction, and community engagement.

Required Qualifications
- Ideally a Bachelor's Degree in recreation management, sports management, business administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in aquatics management, with a proven track record of leadership and achievement as well as references.
- Lifeguard certification and experience in teaching swim lessons.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
- Ideally experience using iclasspro booking software but not necessary.
- CPR/AED certification.
