Job Description
Purpose:
- To govern the Lifesaving Society Ontario in accordance with the Society’s Bylaws and Mission.
- To provide lifesaving sport leadership to the Board of Directors.
- To lead the Lifesaving Sport activity centre and projects as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Term of Office:
- Elected to the Board of Directors at the Lifesaving Society’s Annual General
- Meeting for a term of two years.
Reporting Relationship: To the Board of Directors as required.
Responsibilities
- Participate as an active member of the Board of Directors in an ethical and lawful manner, respecting the confidentiality of Board discussions.
- Chair the Activity Centre Council for which the VP is responsible.
- Establish meeting schedule for the Activity Centre Council.
- Ensure the appointment of two Activity Centre Chairs to the Council of Officers.
- Coordinate the work of the Chairs related to the VP’s portfolio.
- Communicate with Chairs regularly.
- Represent Chairs’ interests at Board of Directors meetings.
- Provide feedback to Chairs on their performance.
- Establish the Council reporting schedule for the Lifesaving Sport Chairs.
- Manage the Lifesaving Sport strategic plan.
- Attend Board of Director meetings, Think Tank and the Annual General Meeting.
- Champion Branch priorities and other projects, as directed by the Board of Directors.
