Job Description

Purpose
To provide leadership for the Lifesaving Society Ontario on research ofAquatic Safety Management related subjects through committee research withoutside agencies such as Toronto Metropolitan University and ConestogaCollege.

Term of Reference
Appointed by the Board of Directors to the Council of Officers for a term oftwo years.

Reporting Relationship
To the Board of Directors as required.
To the Council of Officers as scheduled.

Responsibilities
  1. Establish annual objectives for the Chair’s portfolio.
  2. Manage approved projects within pre-set budget limits and new productdevelopment guidelines.
  3. Chair the portfolio’s committee including:
    • Recruit committee members.
    • Assign responsibilities.
    • Recognize volunteer committee members.
  4. Attend Council meetings as scheduled and the Annual General Meeting.
  5. Report to Council as scheduled on the status of the portfolio’s annualobjectives.
  6. Prepare an annual report on the portfolio’s accomplishments.
