The Lifesaving Society awards its annual Jocelyn Palm Cup to the affiliate making the most outstanding contribution to the National Lifeguard Service. The Jocelyn Palm Cup is typically presented at an awards ceremony following the Society's Annual General Meeting.
Who is eligible: All Lifesaving Society Ontario Affiliate Members.
Criteria: The National Lifeguard Committee looks for and considers the following:
- Community engagement.
- The promotion of National Lifeguard certification as the single standard for lifeguarding.
- The development of National Lifeguard leadership personnel.
- A significant contribution to National Lifeguard over the past year, which merits special recognition.
- The promotion of lifeguarding as a career and employment opportunity.
What to submit: The nomination process is easy. You may find you are simply highlighting work you are already doing. But it is important that you track, document and send examples of the work to demonstrate what has been achieved. We recommend you don’t wait for the deadline to compile your submission; instead, document the activity as it happens so the details are fresh in your mind.
