Job Description
The Swim Instructor/Lifeguard role is critical in providing an enjoyable experience for class participants, and assists in the planning, instruction, and evaluation of lesson patrons. This position also plays a supportive role in emergency situations, accident prevention and responding to situations. This position reports to the Aquatics & Sports Supervisor.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Plan and organize classes through daily lesson plans and long-term core plans to ensure progressive learning
- Provide instruction and evaluations of patrons during lessons
- Complete pool deck set-up and clean-up
- Follow emergency procedures
- Provide excellent customer service
- Maintain class safety through formations and proper scanning techniques
- Participate in and host scheduled promotional events
- Attend regular in-service trainings
- Complete tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Current standard First Aid and CPR-C certifications
- Current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification
- Completed or working towards National Lifeguard Certification
- Ability to work weekends, weeknights, and camp programs
NICE TO HAVE
- Lifesaving Society's Lifesaving Instructor Certification
- National Lifeguard Instructor Certification
- Standard First Aid Instructor Certification
- Lifesaving Examiners Certification
- High Five Certifications
- Knowledge of and/or working towards HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development and/or Quest 2
