Job Description

SWIM Instructor (3 positions) $23 – $35/hour

FIRST AID Instructor (2 positions) $30/hour to start

LEADERSHIP Instructor (2 positions) $28/hour to start

 

Job Description - Join the CAN SWIM TEAM!

Are you passionate about swimming and love working with children and youth? CAN SWIM ACADEMY is looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and dedicated Swim Instructors to join our team for the Fall/Winter 2026 session.  This is a great opportunity for an experienced Swim Instructor who enjoys creating a safe, positive, and fun learning environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

 

AVAILABLE Hours of Work:

Monday: 4:00 - 7:30pm                      Tuesday:  4:00 – 7:30pm

Wednesday: 4:00pm – 7:00pm           Thursday: 4:0 pm – 7:00pm

Friday: 4:00pm – 7:00pm                    Saturday: 9:00 – 12:30pm

Sunday: 9:00 – 12:30pm

Minimum Commitment: Successful candidates must be available and committed working scheduled shifts for the duration of the lesson set.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective swimming lessons.
  • Provide safe, enjoyable, and inclusive aquatics programs.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all swimmers and participants.
  • Follow all applicable Ontario Health Regulations and pool safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date pool and program records.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs and abilities of individual swimmers.
  • Provide excellent customer service to swimmers, parents, and guardians.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and welcoming environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Current National Lifeguard Certification
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED
  • Current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification
  • Current First Aid Instructors and Examiners Certification
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working as a Swim Instructor
  • Experience planning and conducting Lifesaving Society Swim for Life programs
  • Experience working with children, youth, and adults of various ages and abilities.
  • Valid and current Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Reliable, responsible, and committed to providing a high-quality swimming experience.
