Join the Northstar Aquatics Team!
Are you passionate about swimming and love working with children and youth? Northstar Aquatics is looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and dedicated Swim Instructors to join our team for the Fall 2026 session.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Swim Instructor who enjoys creating a safe, positive, and fun learning environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities. For the right candidate, there may also be opportunities for year-round employment beyond the Fall session.
Hours of Work:
- Wednesday: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Thursday: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Friday: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Minimum Commitment: Successful candidates must be available and committed to working a minimum of two shifts per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective swimming lessons.
- Provide safe, enjoyable, and inclusive aquatics programs.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all swimmers and participants.
- Follow all applicable Ontario Health Regulations and pool safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date pool and program records.
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs and abilities of individual swimmers.
- Provide excellent customer service to swimmers, parents, and guardians.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and welcoming environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current National Lifeguard Certification.
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED.
- Current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working as a Swim Instructor.
- Experience planning and conducting Lifesaving Society Swim for Life programs.
- Experience working with children, youth, and adults of various ages and abilities.
- Valid and current Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Reliable, responsible, and committed to providing a high-quality swimming experience.
